My ex-roommate got his hunting license and firearms following an incident right and took off while the box of parts of weapons, ammunition and knives in the second room of my apartment. No parts of weapons are taken together as parts of different firearms. I called the police and they said they really just full of firearms. I do not think it is appropriate, just your potential deadly weapons in the trash, but Google has failed me on a good way to get rid of them.
Sell them
Take an ad out in the paper. Gun owners (like me) would be interested.
Elect Obama and you won’t have any guns, ammo or parts to be bothered with!
Just say No! to Obama/ Biden.
Go McCain/Palin 2008 and beyond!
Your local PD won’t take parts or ammo?! We’ll at least take ammo, I know that for sure. Try another agency like the state police or sheriff’s office (assuming you tried a city police agency). You could sell them but I’d be afraid to do that. Know of any blacksmiths? lol they could probably use the spare metal.
Good luck!
maybe a gun dealer would buy them. If not, they must have some little
value as scrap metal.
Confirm with your roommate that he has abandoned the property. Once you’ve done so you can take them to any local firearms dealer to sell. They’ll either buy them from you or sell them on consignment.

The best method would be to give them to your local gun shop.
If you want to get some money out of them, sell them. The best place to do that is here:
http://www.gunbroker.com/
It’s an auction format just like e-bay, and if you put out some reasonable pictures you will have no trouble selling the items. Do be careful of one thing, if you sell a receiver of a modern gun, it must go to an Licensed Dealer.
There is one company that is always looking for parts, this is their web site: http://www.e-gunparts.com/
If it were possible, I might be interested in these parts, but this is not the forum to exchange the needed personal information to complete the transaction.
Why would you want to dispose of them?
Anyway, sell or trade them at a pawn shop or gun store.
